Two boys score to the Chemistry Olympiad

Stephen King, Writer

Junior Alex Li and senior Kyle Gardner passed the chemistry AP test and as a result they are now advancing to the Chemistry Olympiad. They studied weeks before by looking at old tests, quizzes and learning from their mistakes to pass the test.

“It’s nice to be recognized,” Gardner said. “Alex is consistently among the best in the nation at pretty much everything he does.”

On April 18, they will be taking their second test at Saint Edward’s University. It is a three part exam consisting of 60 multiple choice questions, free response questions, and experimentation in a laboratory. If they win they will be able to progress further into the competition.

“I feel proud of myself for my efforts and my hard work,” Li said. “I also feel proud for Kyle and his accomplishments.”
