Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare is dramatic horror story written and directed by Jeff Wadlow. The movie just recently came out in theaters in early April of 2018 and was a very widely anticipated movie. The movie features many famous actors like Lucy Hale and Tyler Posey, who many teens know because of their heavy involvement in the TV industry. Hale is most well known for her character, Aria, on the ABC family tv show Pretty Little Liars, while Posey is most well known for his part as Scott McCall on the hit TV show, Teen Wolf.
The story follows 7 college seniors who go to Mexico for their last spring break altogether. On their last night out of the country, Olivia, played by Lucy Hale, meets a man named Carter at a bar and he suggests that she and all of her friends go to an abandoned church to continue the night, but what they didn’t know was what dangers lay ahead of them.
Upon their return to the states, weird things start happening to each and everyone one of them. They start to hear and see things, and then later start to do actions that they, themselves, don’t even know they’re doing. “The game,” then goes through each of the characters, revealing everyone ones deepest and darkest secrets, ripping friendships and relationships apart.
As the movie comes to an end, you see people that were once best friends enemies, and people that were once alive, now dead. I was not the biggest fan of the movie.
Before I saw it, I was excited to see it because of all of the “hype” that it got on either Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media outlet. When I was watching the actual movie, there were times when I would find myself bored a lot, or not as scared as I normally would have been in one of these types of movies. With only 15%on rotten tomatoes and 4.5/10 on IMDB, there’s no wonder that this movie was anything but DAR(E)ing.
