Student+shares+a+go-to+recipe%3A+Easily+bake+sugar+cookies

“I like making this recipe because it’s simple and easy to make many of them to hand out to people; It’s a safe choice to bake when giving them away.” freshman Michaela Partridge said. “It’s one of my favorite recipes and type of cookie as I love the smooth and chewy texture, along with the perfect amount of sweetness in every bite.”

Prep Time: 20 Minutes

Cook Time: 10 Minutes

Total Time: 30 Minutes

Servings: 48

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
    • Substitute: 1-½ tablespoon of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  1. Preheat Oven – 375 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius)
  2. Flour, baking soda, and baking powder together in a bowl and stir
  3. Beat sugar and butter together in a bowl with electric mixer until you reach a smooth texture
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla
  5. Gradually blend in flour mixture with this smooth batter
  6. Roll dough into small-sized balls
  7. Place them 2 inches apart from each other onto an ungreased baking sheet
