How to throw a “Wicked” Halloween party

Jennifer Walker, Editor-in-Chief

It’s about time for Halloween, and I think it’s a great opportunity to do something fun with your friends. I’ve put together six steps to throw a Halloween party based on the musical “Wicked.” So if you care to find these steps for a “Wicked” party, look to the western sky.

1. Invite your friends

First, you’ll need to find some unique invitations, and they can’t be any plain invite. They have to be based off of “Wicked!” Etsy and Pinterest have a lot of ideas and DIY’s to get you started on your invitation search.

2. Decorations

Now that you have your invitations, you need decorations. Check Etsy again to score on some rare decorations. Pinterest should give you ideas on how to bring parts of the musical into your party. It’s probably a good time to start making all of those DIY projects you found.

3. Supplies

Once you have all your decorations, head out to Party City to get all of the basic supplies you’ll need like, tablecloths, forks, and napkins. Keep in mind that the color scheme is green, purple and black.

4. Activities

Next you need to think of some activities for your party. I would play music from ‘Wicked,” eat a lot of food, and then watch a halloween movie. Halloweentown, Twitches, and Hocus Pocus are perfect to watch. Amazon has these movies on DVD.

5. Food

If you’re inviting your friends to a party you’ll need to feed them, right? Pizza is always safe way to go, but what about some “Wicked” cake pops? These cool cake pops should satisfy your guests. This tutorial has a section where it shows you how to make cake pops with a witch hat on them, which would be perfect for a “Wicked” themed party.

Have fun at your “Wicked” Halloween party!
