International Club gets ready to party

The International Club will have an end of year party on Friday, May 22, to celebrate the club’s year of learning multiple cultures. The members will bring a different dish representing their culture.

“I’m thinking of bring these desserts called carlotas,” Eva Gonzales, the club president, said. “It’s like a lime pie.”

Because of the many students from many parts of the world, there will be new food to try and eat. It will be a good way to express the club’s diversity and to celebrate their year.

“We’ve got a lot of people who are from Turkey, Latin America and Asia,” Gonzalez said. “It’s a good diversity.”

As for next year, the newly elected officers will take care of the club by following its traditions. Gonzalez will be graduating from Vandegrift.

“I have mixed feelings,” Gonzalez said. “I feel happy because this was a really great year. We’ve got a lot members this year and I feel really happy with the accomplishments we’ve done together as a club. But I’m also sad because I’m a senior and it just makes me sad to say goodbye to everyone and to the club.”
