‘The House of Hades’

I have always envied the Harry Potter generation. Born in 1997, when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was first published, I missed the opportunity to be among the first readers of this beloved story. However, I grew up with another book series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians. While readers before me knew Harry Hermione, and Ron, I knew Percy, Annabeth and Grover. I have been reading this book series since I was in the sixth grade and experiencing its conclusion as a high school senior brought back a surge of nostalgia and remembrance. The book was spectacular. Featuring characters old and new, I could not put this novel down. I will not give much away, but I will say that The House of Hades does not disappoint. All the characters receive satisfying conclusions, but there are just enough loose ends to hope that Rick Riordan will continue this series. For fans of Percy Jackson, its a must read.
