Kieran’s Korner: Supernatural

Kieran Daly, Entertainment Editor

If the amount of seasons/run time of a show are what determines if it is good or not, then Supernatural is fantastic. Originally starting in 2005, Supernatural is now on its ninth season with a spin off show entitled Supernatural: Bloodlines.

The show follows two brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester, as they travel across North America working the family business, slaying demons and hunting monsters. The show has had multiple story arches that have ranged from closing the gates of hell to restoring heaven, each one as entertaining and intriguing as the next.

One of the best parts of the show is the witty pop-culture references, Dean and Sam make several jokes towards the situations they face with references towards classic movies and TV shows. The soundtrack to the show is also pretty rocking, with tons of classical rock music that matches Dean’s iconic 1967 Chevrolet Impala.

The show airs on the CW on Tuesday nights along with the Vampire Diaries spin off, The Originals. The first eight seasons of the show are on Netflix, with the ninth season still currently airing. The show has also been renewed for a tenth season, with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
