With baseball season approaching, ongoing renovations to the baseball field have forced the team to adapt while continuing to build momentum. Head coaches and players have shifted practices to the football fields and off-campus batting cages as turf work replaces the old surface. According to senior Tripp Weigelt, the transition has changed daily routines, but it hasn’t slowed the team’s progress.
“Coach has been doing a great job. It’s definitely been a whole change with our practices,” Weigelt said.
Despite the adjustments, the team has maintained strong chemistry, even as multisport athletes join the roster.
“It’s easy to catch up with your teammates, and we all have the same goals,” Weigelt said.
The new turf is expected to reduce maintenance time and improve playing conditions, giving the team more practice time as it prepares for a competitive season ahead.
