After winning their first playoff game against McCallum last week, football will play in the second round of playoffs tomorrow against Lockhart at noon at Kelly Reeves Stadium in Round Rock.

“The boys are really locked in right now. We are on the edge of doing something we’ve never done before and the boys are excited,” Coach Drew Sanders said.

Lockhart currently has a 7-3 record for the season. Vandegrift’s record is 9-2. The two teams have never faced one another before.

“I definitely think we can beat them. They have a strong offence so we need to put a score up and defense needs to hold them,” junior Max Cooley said.

This is the third time in school history that the team has advanced to the second round of playoffs and will be the first time the team will move on further if they win the game on Saturday.

“Winning this game on Saturday puts us in a position to do something we’ve never done before, which is win a second round playoff game,” junior Daniel Conte said.
