The Viper Boys and Girls golf teams competed in the state tournament on April 28 and 29, with the Boys team taking home State Champion.
“[I’m] very proud of how solid the team played both days,” Coach Wernecke said.
The girl’s team finished in the top three in the first tournament and seventh overall, ending the season with eight top three finishes, out of ten tournaments.
“Going into State, the team felt like finishing in the top 3 was a great goal,” Wernecke said.
The boy’s team won the tournament by 17 shots, and four out of the five players finished in the top ten individually.
“[I’m} very proud of how well the team played from the start of the year to the end,” Wernecke said.
