The varsity tennis team heads to regionals as they take home four championships and two runner-ups at their district match. The regional match is scheduled for April 14-16 at the Blossom Center in San Antonio.

“I am very happy with our performance at district. We have all been unified which has really shown in our four championships at district,” varsity junior Sahil Mehta said.

The district match was held on April 2-3 at Vista Ridge and Rouse High School with seniors Josh Minor and John Jacob earning the title of boys’ doubles champions, and sophomores Dani Cuteri and Ali Hutchinson earning the title of girls’ doubles champions.

“It’s been such a fantastic experience watching the team advance from district. We are such a big family that always encourages and supports one another in the good days and bad,” Mehta said.

The tennis team also gained two championships in the singles match. Sophomore King Roy took home the boys’ singles championship and junior Shwetha Prabakar took home the girls’ singles championship.

“We are extremely excited for regionals. It will be great to play against all of the teams from all over the area,” Mehta said.
