Out of the many spring sports that are taking place, softball is starting to practice for their upcoming season. Both softball teams began practicing in January and are scrimmaging to get ready for their games that are scheduled to last until the end of April.

Softball is a team oriented sport with 10 players on the varsity team and about 20 on the junior varsity team. The varsity softball coach is Wendy Huber with the help of the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach Sarah Holub.

“I love playing this sport. It’s all about playing together, because without your team you can’t win,” varsity sophomore Lexi Barr said.

Junior varsity plays at 5 p.m. and varsity plays at 7 p.m. with their first game on Tuesday, Feb. 18 against Cedar Ridge at Cedar Ridge High School.

“I’m very excited for the season to start. Playing with my teammates is so much fun. I can’t imagine playing with anyone else,” Barr said.
