Homemade chocolate chip pancakes that I made on a nice Saturday morning

Here’s how to make some homemade banana chocolate chip pancakes. These are the type of pancakes my family usually makes, and they are so good that they’re sometimes gone in seconds.

Ingredients (makes 8 to 10 pancakes, so if you want to make more, double the recipe):

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips

Steps:

  1. In a mixing bowl stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, milk, cooking oil and banana. Then add it to the dry ingredients and stir until they are combined.
  3. Add your chocolate chips and stir until they are blended in but still slightly lumpy.
  4. Pour about ¼ cup batter onto a hot griddle for each standard size pancake or 1 tablespoon batter for each dollar sized pancake
  5. Tip: If the batter is too thick, add more milk to make it the right consistency.
  6. When the pancakes have bubbly surfaces and slightly brown edges, flip them over using a spatula and let the second side cook.
  7. Cook until pancakes are golden brown, then place them on a serving plate and enjoy!
