Wednesday’s List: 5 ways to decompress after a stressful day

Linnea Kennedy, Staff Reporter

  1. Take a nap. Sometimes when you just can’t handle life anymore and you need to leave it for an hour or two. Let your bed do your decompressing for you.
  2. Watch an episode of your favorite show. There’s nothing like sitting down and spending some time with the characters and stories that make you the happiest. I know my go-to stress relief show is How I Met Your Mother.
  3. Eat your feelings. Scoop some ice cream, pour some chocolate sauce over it, then add some whip cream and maybe some sprinkles and you’ve got yourself a stress-relief sundae.
  4. Vent to a family member. Sometimes the only way the stress comes out is through your mouth. Make a family member endure a rant for ten minutes or so and I guarantee you’ll feel better. They may not, but you will.
  5. Take a walk. It is scientifically proven that exercise gives your endorphins and endorphins make you happy! I promise that even a short stroll around the block with minimize your stress.
