Five fun things to do during Spring Break

Top five things to do during Spring Break in Austin:

  1. ABC Zilker Park Kite Festival. The festival is taking place on Sunday, March 12 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and is being held at Zilker Park.

      2. South by Southwest

According to the SXSW website, South by Southwest is an annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, musicals and conferences that take place annually mid-March in Austin.

       3. Take a day trip to a new location such as Hamilton Pool, Barton Springs or Jacobs Well.

Hamilton Pool is a natural pool that was created when an underground river collapsed due to erosion. To visit Hamilton pool you must pay a reservation fee of $10 and a entrance fee of $15. There are some exceptions for time of year and age that can be found on the official website.

Barton springs is a recreational outdoor swimming pool located near Zilker Park. The pool is filled with natural nearby spring water. To enter the pool you must pay – in cash, based on age – a fee of $2, $3 or no fee at all if you are over the age of 80.

Jacob’s Well is a ‘blue hole’ located 37 miles from Austin. There is no fee to view the hole, but if you would like to swim in the hole you must pay a $5 fee for a child and $9 for an adult. There is no lifeguard on duty, swimming and jumping in the hole is at your own risk.

4. Binge watch your favorite show

Personally, my favorite show to binge watch is “The Office.” I would recommend it because it is funny and is very entertaining.

     5. Go to the Austin Zoo or Austin Aquarium.
