Vandegrift High School opened for in-person learning on Aug. 12. With the COVID-19 pandemic beginning to worsen again in the country, community members wonder if the school will stay in-person for much longer. While many hope that it will get better, the number of cases reported has shown a steady increase.

While the COVID-19 cases from the school are increasing, more students are getting vaccinated. Approximately two in every 10 Texas high-schoolers have had at least the first dose.

With the increasing number of cases, the school has recommended the use of a face covering and social distancing when possible.
