Four members of the choir program had the honor of making Texas All-State Ensembles on Saturday, with one member ranked first chair.  These students will perform with other All-State choir members at the annual TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) convention on Feb. 10-13.

“It’s a place where we can become better musicians and enjoy musical together,” junior Ericka Myers

The students with this honor are senior Cami Everitt, juniors Corbin King and Myers and sophomore Claire Carpenter. King, in addition to making All-State, also ranked first chair. Everitt made the Mixed Choir as the second chair soprano 1. Myers also made the mixed choir as the fourth chair alto.

I’m super excited to go back to TMEA and make music with a bunch of talented musicians.

Up until this weekend, Vista Ridge High School had been the only school in the district to have All-tate singers. This year, the school had only one student make the choir. There were 10 students from the 30-school region that made All-State Ensembles.

“I’m pumped to back again, because it was really fun last year,” Myers said.
