On Saturday, November 19, the Legacies will be leaving for New York City to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As part of a group of 600 performers, the Legacies will be broadcast at 8am on NBC on Thanksgiving Day.

“Two years ago we earned our spot to participate in the parade through American Dance/Drill competition scores. We ranked with elite scores and last year our officers re-earned our spot through their officer routine,” Mrs. Reich, assistant Legacies director, said.

Through multiple years of fundraising, both rookie and veteran Legacies will be traveling and performing together. In addition to dancing, the Legacies will use the opportunity to sightsee and visit the historic landmarks available in New York. Their trip, which is their biannual out-of-state destination, will end on Friday, November 25.

“We’re super excited and we’ve already started learning the parade routine for the past few weeks. It’s an exclusive group of dancers and we’re proud to be a part of this. We get to see all of New York and have an incredible experience,” junior Sarah Bristow, a Legacy, said.
