This year two of the five robotics teams, Quad X 6299 and Venom 6209, advanced to Worlds. The competition will be held in St. Louis April 27-30 and will be livestreamed on the official robotics championship website.

“We are super excited,” member of team Quad X Lizzy Patterson said. “For some of us this is our third year going, and we really want to win it this time.”

Quad X has won three awards this season and Venom won four awards this season including the PTC design award, control and control and think award. The teams had to make it through two qualifying rounds, then advanced through Regionals and Super Regionals to qualify for Worlds.

“It’s really nice,” member of team Venom Ryan Galligher said. “We finally made it to Worlds. It was three years in the making, but we did it.”

The robotics team has been preparing for their five competitions since the summer. The objective in each competition is to determine the best robot through a multitude of tasks.

“I am very proud of the teams,” Robotics sponsor Tamany Wendel said. “Tremendous amount of work that everyone has put in this season. The game this year is difficult and it is very exciting to have two ViperBot teams advancing to Worlds.”
