The Legacies take Chicago
December 8, 2014
The Legacies were invited to perform at the annual McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago. They were in the city for five days during the break.
“I loved performing because it was so different from what I was used to doing, and I love traveling with my team and spending time with them,” junior Legacy Michaella Couglin said.
The team performed on live television in front of Macy’s at 9 a.m., along with five other teams from the Austin area, including Lake Travis and Westwood High Schools.
“My favorite part of the trip was the performance, it was so fun,” sophomore Legacy Maddie Cook-Saunders said.
The Legacies did some sightseeing earlier in the week as well. They saw a live production of Annie, ate at Gino’s Pizzeria, shopped on the Magnificent Mile and Michigan Avenue, and went to a couple of museums downtown. The girls flew back home Thursday after the parade.
“We did almost everything you could think of, it was great,” Cook-Saunders said.
