Along with the rest of the varsity boys team, senior center Trent Workman celebrates with Head Coach Jaime Sierra and his kids in the locker room after the historic 48-45 win over Westlake. “Coach Sierra, if you know him, you know he really doesn’t like to mess around. He’s a good coach. I’d say one of the better coaches in the state of Texas,” freshman guard Dylan Cottier said. “He’s a great guy but doesn’t really take stuff lightly. He takes his job seriously, and having a coach like that is good because it leads to winning. He’s hard on everybody, and it’s important for coaches to do that, and he’s definitely done that with me a few times. He’s done that with a lot of guys.”

Aashka Kancharla is a senior and excited for her first year on staff. She is also president of Habitat for Humanity, part of yearbook staff, and involved in UIL academics. She hopes to study architecture and literature in college, and runs a student-led blog reporting on affordable housing innovation and community impact. Beyond academics, she loves reading, writing, long distance running, and coffee.
