Jennifer Walker

As fresh booklets flew through the machines, a group of seniors walked around the printing facilities at Community Impact Newspaper. Senior Jennifer Walker shadowed graphic designers at Community Impact Newspaper during COOL Week.

“I’ve wanted to go into graphic design since I was in fifth grade,” Walker said. “I knew I wanted to shadow a graphic designer for COOL Week.”

Jennifer got hands-on experience creating ads for the paper and sat with graphic designers at their desk. Jennifer said she had her mind set on design before she participated in COOL Week.

“The printing facility tour was my favorite part,” Walker said. “Community Impact is one of the only places that has a printer like that.”

Even though print design wasn’t for Jennifer, she is looking forward to pursuing a different path in graphic design.

“I definitely still want to go into graphic design,” Walker said. “This helped me decide which type of design I want to do.”
