Vandegrift Supports Breast Cancer

To support Breast Cancer Awareness, the first 50 students who donate $20 or more will receive a certificate to get on the football field during the game against Cedar Park on Oct. 17 and shoot shirts from a t-shirt gun into the crowd.

Vandegrift has also partnered with Mighty Fine Burgers and Fries to give students a chance to shoot the “Big Gatlin Gun,” with a donation of $100 or more. The “Big Gatlin Gun” shoots 20 shirts and has been used at the U.T. football games.

“I’m excited for the game and to see all of the support for breast cancer,” varsity cheerleader Linzy Meyer said.

The t-shirts that will be shot during the game have been donated, which gives the Susan G. Komen fund all of the profits that have been donated.

“It’s a good feeling to know that we are helping a good cause while still having fun. I am looking forward for everyone to ‘blackout’ the wolves for the game,” Meyer said.

Anyone who would like to support the Susan G. Komen fund can donate up to $250. If you would like to donate and have the chance to shoot a t-shirt gun, go to https://vhs.edpay.net/p-179-vhs-shoot-for-the-cure.aspx.
