Humans of Vandy: Senior Riya Saxena

  1. Do you like chips or pretzels better?

“Chips. Both snacks are salty but I feel like the satisfaction I get from biting a chip could not be paralleled by that of a pretzel.”

  1. Where do you see yourself in ten years?

“Hopefully at the end of my surgical residency, because I want to be a neurosurgeon cuttin’ into people’s brains. I’ll probably already have my Nobel Prize by then. Alzheimer’s has been cured, ageing has been reversed, and I no longer have grey hairs.”

  1. What is your favorite place to go on the weekends?

“Costco. I go to Costco with my family and it’s good fun.”

  1. What are your main goals in life?

“To save people’s lives, hence the medical journey that I was talking about, and then I want to cure Alzheimer’s.”

  1. What is the worst quality that a person can have?

“Arrogance. I think arrogance, or having an ego, is detrimental because then people can’t see their own faults.”
