The Lego Movie: Worth the Watch?

Ramie Ruble, Editor-in-Chief

I’ll admit, when I first saw the trailer for the Lego Movie, I couldn’t decide whether it was the stupidest thing Hollywood has churned out thus far or if it would be absolutely brilliant.  Despite hearing nothing but good reviews from friends and seeing that the movie had gotten 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, I decided that I had to see how good it was for myself.

So, I went to go see it with my friends.  We were, of course, the oldest kids there (we still count as kids right?) which was a teensy bit awkward.  Anyway, the movie started with an incredibly generic opening, and kicked off with a completely annoying song, that, by the end of the movie, you actually grow to enjoy.  The main character is your completely average dude.  Then BAM! Crisis! Weight of the world resting upon the shoulders of the average guy.  Throw in a love story, brilliant problem solving, and a pick-me-up ending and you have a soon-to-be classic.

The Lego Movie was very well done and spread a good message of love and acceptance.  It is a great film for all ages, and is pretty hilarious.  It was a very enjoyable movie that I would highly recommend seeing not only once, but multiple times.
