Top Six Must-see Summer Movies

1. Spider-Man Homecoming- July 7th

The next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is almost here! Peter Parker (#3 and my personal favorite so far) has recently come home from his thrilling experience with the Avengers in Civil War. He goes back to school, back to his “normal” life. However, Parker can’t stop himself from trying to prove himself as more than just a kid superhero. And he gets his chance when super-villain Vulture threatens everything Parker loves.

2. Wonder Woman- June 2nd

Finally!! A superhero movie where the main character is- wait for it- a girl! Wonder Woman has been a long debated, long awaited film that everyone, not just feminists, are looking forward to. Diana, after being told of the horrors of World War One, leaves her home of Themyscira to try and stop the fighting. She becomes Wonder Woman, learning her own destiny and proving to the world just how awesome she is.

3. Cars 3- June 16th

We all remember Cars, the Pixar movie of our childhoods. It’s sequel was released in 2011, and now we get a third (and final?) installment. Our favorite rookie is now an old-timer and Lightning McQueen is struggling to stay in the racing world. He must train hard, think hard, and follow the example of the Hudson Hornet in order to win his biggest competition yet.

4. Everything Everything – May 19

This movie looks like a tearjerker – but in the best way! Maddy (Amandla Stenberg) is a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who is unable to leave the protection of the hermetically-sealed environment within her house because of an illness. Olly (Nick Robinson) is the boy next door who won’t let that stop them from being together. Gazing through windows and talking only through texts, Maddy and Olly form a deep bond that leads them to risk everything to be together, even if it means losing everything.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – May 26

I think it’s safe to say that everyone has been dying for this movie to come out! And it’s finally almost here! Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) feels the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost sailors led by his old nemesis, the evil Capt. Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it, he must forge an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer and a headstrong young man in the British navy – who may or may not be the son of two people we know and love!

6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5

Although this movie has already made its debut, it will no doubt be making people fall out of their chairs laughing all summer long. In this latest installment, Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatch their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter’s parentage is revealed.
