Robotics season has tensions running high with Super Regionals coming up this Wednesday. Super Regionals will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio and three teams will be competing in the hopes of making it to the Worlds competition.
“I [might] get to go to Worlds with a team that I’m really proud of being a part of and honestly enjoy being a part of,” Sanouri said.
Viperbots Stryke (6210), Quad X (6299) and Ouroboros (4545) advanced at regionals on Feb. 20, and qualified to contend this Wednesday. The teams will leave from Vandegrift at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning and will return from the competition on Saturday.
“[I feel] pretty good,” Engineering teacher Martin Wiedenmeier said. “We have a really good shot at making another trip to worlds this year.”
There will be approximately 72 other teams from all of the southern states attending the alongside Vandegrift and the event will last all day Thursday and Friday.
“This is the make it or break it point,” 6210 team member Farhan Sanouri said. “If we don’t make it then it’s over for us, but if we do make it then we actually get to go to Worlds finally.”
