Things to do this Easter weekend

Jennifer Walker, Editor-in-Chief

Happy Spring! Easter is this Sunday, and I thought I would find a few fun things to do around town during the long weekend. Enjoy!

Jo’s 18th Annual Easter Pet Parade & Costume Contest

Calling all pet lovers! Come on out to Jo’s Annual Easter Pet Parade & Costume Contest! The event starts at noon this Saturday. The parade will start at Annie and South Congress and end at Jo’s Coffee. If you want to register for the costume contest, the deadline is tomorrow. The registration fee is $20. All proceeds from the event will go to Austin Pets Alive.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt and Movie in the Park

If you’re willing to drive a little longer, check out this flashlight easter egg hunt at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock. The event is being held this Thursday by the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department. The flashlight egg hunt starts at 8:45 p.m, and Finding Dory will be playing at 9.

Easter Brunches

You can’t forget Easter brunch! I love going out to brunch and then eating all of my chocolate when I get home. Steiner Ranch Steakhouse and 827 Ray’s have very good brunches. Be sure to make reservations before you go!

Giant Chess

If you’re looking for something to do that isn’t related to the easter bunny, head to Wooldridge Square Park to play some giant chess. It’s free, and it will be set up from 12:30-3:30 p.m this Saturday.
